MP Oliver Heald has called for residents of Royston to unite to prevent further flooding in the town.
Mr Heald, the MP for North East Herts, was present at a road show held by Anglian Water in Royston.
Here local people were given advice on how to prevent the build up of fats, oils and grease, cited by the water company as a major cause of the flooding.
"I was very pleased to support this event," said Mr Heald.
"It was a useful and informative exercise, and I think as residents of Royston we all need to do our bit to prevent this happening again."
Collette Nicholls, from Anglian Water, said: "The event went very well with lots of residents picking up information from our stand.
