Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge has closed it’s A&E department this afternoon and is asking the public to choose an alternative hospital where possible.
The major incident was declared due to computer network issues, which lead to the closure of the emergency department.
A message was put out on the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust website just before 5pm, which said: “Our A&E is currently closed so please help us by choosing alternatives where possible so we can prioritise our very sick patients.”
If you intend on going to A&E, go to www.cambridgeshireandpeterboroughccg.nhs.uk/news-and-events/campaigns/choose-well-stay-well for a list of alternative hospital sites.
