TWO West End theatre actors visited a Royston school to inspire the pupils to read and perform.
Professional actors Dylan Turner and Lucinda Shaw, from West End in Schools, stopped by at Tannery Drift School and wowed pupils with an hour-long performance of Jungle Bungle.
A spokesman for the school said: “The performance takes them on a musical expedition and along the way features four books – Where The Wild Things Are, Danny The Champion of the World, How To Heal A Broken Wing, and The Huge Bag Of Worries.
“All the school, from nursery to Year 4 took part in some way to bring these books alive. The actors sang to the many characters they played, and the buzz at the school was inspiring.
“The children had been learning all week about how exciting reading is, and a special assembly was dedicated to all the staff bringing in their favourite books and reading parts of the stories to the pupils.”
