A COUNCIL has made a £2million fund available to help businesses through the recession.

Cambridgeshire County Council is proposing to provide the fund within its 2009/10 budget.

The money will be invested in the voluntary sector to help people keep their homes and jobs.

Cllr Jill Tuck, leader of the council, said: "We don't yet know the full impacts of the recession.

"So we need to make sure that as and when problems arise, we are able to deal with them.
