Key Stage One pupils at Studlands Rise First School in Royston wrote to Sir David Attenborough - and were 'over the moon' to receive a response.

In geography, the children have been learning to compare the UK to other countries, and chose to focus on Kenya.

Inspired by David Attenborough's travels around the world, the children wrote him a letter to share what they had learnt.

The famous natural historian and broadcaster wrote back, saying: "Thank you for letting me see the letter written by your pupils.

"I am so glad that they are so well informed about Kenya and its animals."

Year 1 class teacher Lily Windsor said: "I am so proud of all that the children have achieved over the last few weeks."
