The North Herts Safer Neighbourhood Team is hosting a bike marking event at Royston Police Station.

The event will take place at the front of the station in Melbourn Street from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, December 30.

PCSO Rebecca Fannon-Hall said: "Having your bike security marked is something that we really recommend.

"It takes just seconds and deters thieves as the bike becomes harder to sell on, it also helps identify the bike’s owner if it’s lost or stolen.

"So if you are lucky enough to receive a new bike for Christmas or you would like to have your existing bike marked, they please come along.

"If you are unable to make the event, you can register your bike at bikeregister.com.

"This is a national database that can be used to help find your bike should it ever get lost or stolen."
