Australian solicitor Mark Fitzpatrick has become the facilitator for Curwens Art Gallery in Royston.

Curwens Solicitors in Royston offers a space for local artists to display their work.

Mark, who works in the private client department advising in wills, power of attorney and probate, said: "It’s important for the community and for artists to get some visibility.

"Curwens started providing this not-for-profit platform for artists many years ago and the scheme is one of the things that I like most about the firm.

"I’m very happy to be involved in supporting local artists in this way."

Gallery curator Diana added: "Mark prepared a variety of nibbles for our last open evening, including veggie and vegan options.

"As a young man Mark worked as a chef in London including the Hilton Hotel and House of Lords.

"He’s still enthusiastic about food preparation and we can enjoy more of his tasty bites at future events."

The gallery's next open evening is from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, July 19.

A variety of art is available to view and purchase at the solicitors in High Street, during the office hours of 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Curwens also offers a wide range of legal services.
