After much hype and anticipation, the Flying Scotsman passed through Hertfordshire earlier today (Friday, June 23).
It went through a series of railway stations, including Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn North, Knebworth, Stevenage (where it stopped to pick passengers up), Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock and Royston.
The famous locomotive is celebrating its centenary year with a series of mainline tours across this country, organised by The Railway Touring Company.
Today's journey is among that series, as it departed from London Kings Cross around 7.50am and makes its way to Norwich, where it will be diesel-hauled to the popular east coast seaside resort of Great Yarmouth.
And local train enthusiasts don't have long to wait until the Flying Scotsman is back.
On Friday, June 30, it will be passing through Stevenage again as it heads from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh for its 'Centenary Weekender'.
