Best-selling author David Walliams' children's book Demon Dentist is heading to the Cambridge Arts Theatre during May half term.

The play tells the story of Alfie and Gabz, who go on a fabulous adventure as they investigate the strange events happening in their hometown.

Children are leaving their teeth for the Tooth Fairy and waking up to find odd things under their pillows. Alfie and Gabz are determined to get to the bottom of the mystery - but no one could have dreamed what they will discover when they come face to face with the demon dentist herself.

David Walliams is a comedian, author and actor and television personality, who gained fame prior to becoming an author by co-creating and starring in Little Britain alongside comedy partner Matt Lucas.

He has written numerous children's books including The Boy in the Dress and Mr Stink

His children's stories have sold more than 37 million copies worldwide and been translated into 52 languages.

Birmingham Stage Company have consequently produced successful stage adaptations of several of Walliams' books, including Gangsta GrannyAwful Auntie and Billionaire Boy.

Both Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy were nominated for an Olivier Award - and Demon Dentist was described by Birmingham Stage Company as "the funniest and most exciting show yet".

Performances will take place at Cambridge Arts Theatre from Wednesday, May 31 to Sunday, June 4.

The production times are 2pm on Wednesday, May 31, 11am and 3pm on Thursday, June 1, 2pm and 6.30pm on Friday, June 2, 2pm and 6.30pm on Saturday, June 3 and 11am on Sunday, June 4.

The play is suitable for ages five plus, and last for approximately one hour and 50 minutes including an interval.

Tickets cost £25 for adults and £20 for children, and all ticket prices include a £3 booking fee.
