Comedian and Mock the Week star Alasdair Beckett-King is bringing his first UK stand-up tour to Cambridge Junction.

His show The Interdimensional ABK will arrive at Cambridge Junction at 8pm on Saturday, May 6.

After several sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, Alasdair predicts that 2023 will be the year of what he describes as "hard-hitting, uncompromising whimsy".

The German philosopher Schopenhauer said ours was the worst of all possible worlds, which raises the question: How are you supposed to perform whimsical comedy when the real world is so terrible?

Alasdair thinks he has the answer. His audience is rudderlessly moping in the bafflingly miserable B Timeline, oblivious that there is a marginally superior version of reality.

Swooping in from the much better A Timeline, Alasdair is on a heroic mission to save audiences from themselves.

However he hits a snag. The madness of B Timeline - war, injustice, growing anti-Ginger sentiment - is overwhelmingly distracting.

Plus it turns out the B Timeline has lots of awful things which Alasdair loves. Instead of Alasdair making the B Timeline better, could it be making him worse?

The Interdimensional ABK combines observational comedy and idiosyncratic animated illustrations, delivering subtle commentary on the political climate in which we B Timeline inhabitants find ourselves.

He has also performed stand-up across the UK, at Glastonbury, Citadel Fest, the Udderbelly Southbank and the Fringe.

The show is suitable for ages 14+, and tickets cost £18 per person.
