Police say a 21 year old Knebworth girl is still missing despite claims on Facebook that she has made contact with her family.
It means Kathryn Ansell, who is understood to be pregnant, has now been gone for two weeks.
The alert was raised when she failed to turn up at her destination on Monday, October 27 after leaving her home in Park Lane.
Officers, who insist Kathryn - better known as Kat - is still missing, said they were concerned because she had not made contact with her family for some time.
However, a message posted on a community Facebook page last week by the person believed to be her sister, said: “Kat Ansell has called her family and is OK. Will be home soon!
“Thank you all for your support and shares in this last 11 days of nightmares. You are greatly appreciated. Toni Ansell x”
When the Welwyn Hatfield Times spoke to Herts Police today (Monday), a spokesman said: “The only update we have is that Kathryn is still missing at this time.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the police via the non-emergency number 101.
