Stevenage stunned MK Dons 3-2 on Saturday, sinking the former league leaders with Ben Kennedy’s late winner at the Lamex.
Boro came from behind to end MK’s 10 game unbeaten run - which had them top of League Two at kick-off - as Dino Maamria’s side bounced back from a streak of three all competitions losses.
Goals from Rhys Healy and Kieran Agard for the visitors were cancelled out by strikes from Steve Seddon, Scott Cuthbert and Ben Kennedy as Boro rose to eighth in the fourth tier.
The early exchanges were evenly matched, but the hosts went ahead. Kennedy drove forwards on the right to spark a Boro counter-attack, before crossing to striker Alex Revell, who nodded down for Seddon to finish after 21 minutes.
MK responded nine minutes later with a wonder-strike from Healy, and the sides went level at the break.
Agard then put the away side ahead after 68 minutes with a towering header, but the hosts responded by pouring forward, getting their reward when Cuthbert finished a well-worked free-kick.
Then, with less than a minute to go, Kennedy struck a perfect free-kick from the edge of the box. It soared over the wall before skimming the underside of the crossbar and hitting the net.
Stevenage kept possession and held their lead for the five minutes of injury time for a confidence-boosting win.
