AN inquest into the death of a Royston man has revealed he died from his head injuries after a collision with a van when he was walking home in darkness.
Peter King, 49, of Swinburne Close had been making his way back to Royston from a friend’s house in Melbourn.
He had been taken there by police after falling out with his landlord earlier in the evening.
While walking along the A10 he was hit by a white Vauxhall van at around 5.15am on Saturday November 13.
Driver Paul Samuels, a 36-year-old man from Royston, was not injured in the accident.
Mr King died from a closed head injured and a fractured skull.
Coroner Belinda Cheney recorded a verdict of accidental death at Huntingdon Coroners Office yesterday.
