A teacher will be donning surgical scrubs when he pounds the streets of Brighton tomorrow (Sunday) in the town’s marathon.
David Atkins, assistant headteacher at the Meridian School in Royston, is taking part in the marathon on behalf of the Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust, which raises money for Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge. He said: “I had planned to run last year, but had to drop out due to being unwell, so entered again this year. I am running in aid of Addenbrooke’s charitable trust. Last year, lots of people generously donated sponsorship, for which I am very grateful. Their sponsorship is for this year’s race.”
