Cadets from the 2484 Bassingbourn squadron braved the cold weather and the choppy waters for some canoeing training at the weekend.
The first day of this year’s Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition training saw cadets travel to Priory Park in Bedford to take on the canoeing challenge.
It involved basic training on the stability and movement of the canoe, and ended with some rescue attempts.
A spokesman for the cadets said: “It was a cold, but very enjoyable, experience for all of our cadets involved in the canoeing section of the Duke of Edinburgh expedition.”
If you are aged between 12 and 17 and would like to join the squadron please email 2484@aircadets.org or call 01763 249156.
You can enrol as a junior cadet, usually after 12 weeks as a recruit and having successfully completed your induction training.
