A Royston park has been recognised as one of the best open spaces in the UK for the sixth consecutive year.
Priory Memorial Gardens in Melbourn Street, Royston, is managed by North Herts District Council, and won the Green Flag award for having excellent facilities, being well managed and maintained and for engaging the local community.
Councillor Peter Burt said: “We are delighted that our parks and nature reserves have received the prestigious Green Flag award.
“I would like to say a special thank you to NHDC’s Grounds Maintenance Team, to our contractors John O’Conner and to the many volunteers and ‘Friends of’ groups who work extremely hard to maintain our beautiful parks and open spaces for everyone in North Hertfordshire to enjoy.”
A special flag waving ceremony was held at the park to celebrate yet another success year.
