It was a town hit yet again as 3,000 people turned up to watch kites soar across the sky for the annual Royston Kite Festival.
Roughly £5,000 was raised for the Willow Foundation at the Rotary Club of Royston event on Therfield Heath on Sunday.
Les Baker from the rotary club said: “It was a successful event yet again. Everyone is satisfied with the day and seemed to enjoy themselves. There was a range of different displays which people really liked. We’ve been lucky with the sunny windy weather for the last 10 years.”
There were all sorts of weird and wonderful kites to see, including an intricate fiery dragon by Simon Merrills and a fine legion of horses piece which wowed the crowds.
It wasn’t all about the fabulous kite displays, there was a whole host of entertainment with kite flying workshops, grand tombolas, charity and trade stalls and a fun fair.
