A Royston woman who raised a stash of cash for a Parkinson’s charity in memory of her late father would like to give thanks to those who donated.
Library supervisor Lynn Burgess completed the Walk for Parkinson’s at Knebworth House with friend Maxine Evans and raised £900 for Parkinson’s UK.
She said: “We were blessed with glorious weather.
“The route around the park took us about two hours and we noticed several other walkers from Royston also taking part.
“On behalf of Parkinson’s UK and ourselves – a great big thank you.”
Parkinson’s is an incurable degenerative disease where the brain gradually cannot control the body’s muscles – which often causes uncontrollable shaking.
Lynn’s dad Ken Russell died from advanced Parkinson’s in December. He went from being an independent healthy man to needing 24-hour care.
