Children and staff at Icknield Walk First School were one of 13 schools and playgroups in Royston and the surrounding area which united on Friday in support of Home-Start Royston and South Cambridgeshire.
The children came into school in their own clothes and made a donation as part of the ‘Love Your Home-Start’ campaign to give the charity a boost.
Generous Tesco shoppers also donated a total of £477 to a collection for the family charity on Thursday and other Royston and Melbourn organisations have collections throughout the month.
Scheme manager Barbara Blower said: “We are really delighted that so many schools and organisations are supporting ‘Love Your Home-Start’ in and around Royston.
“We would like to thank everyone who has taken part so far and would welcome any other organisations who would like to join us to contact us on 01763 262262 or email admin@hsrsc.org.uk.”
