The mayor of Royston says it was a ‘real pleasure’ to host a snowflake tea party on behalf of family support charity Home-Start at the weekend.
Much tea and cake was consumed, and people were invited to get crafty with face paints in order to raise funds for the charity, as well as the Mayor’s Community Trust Fund.
Ben Lewis said: “My family and I had a lovely morning together eating cake and making arts and crafts.
“I was able to meet the hard working and dedicated volunteer team too which was quite humbling.”
A spokeswoman for the charity said: “We would like to thank all our volunteers for their contribution to this successful snowflake tea party, in particular Anna for the face painting, Margaret for the cookies, Isobel for the paper snowflakes, the town crier and all those who baked cakes for us. We would also like to thank the 80 Foxton residents who attended a snowflake tea and craft party in the village hall.”
