The bench in Royston’s Priory Memorial Gardens which had its view blocked by four green telecom boxes has been turned around to face the park.
The move by North Herts District Council comes two months after the boxes were installed for the benefit of Three and EE mobile customers.
Councillor Peter Burt is the executive member for waste recycling and environmental services at North Herts.
“We listened to what the people of Royston had to say,” he said.
“And after speaking with the organisations involved, the council decided that it made sense to turn the bench around so that it faces the park.”
Nick White from Barley said: “The slabs to put your feet on are now behind the bench.
“It’s really indicative of the way the public are treated by the authorities, turn your back and the cock-ups go away.”
