Students from Meridian School have joined a project turning tales from Royston and the surrounding villages into songs.
The Year 9 English and music students from the school in Garden Walk have got involved with writer Graham Palmer and composer Jenni Pinnock’s venture, Cracked Voices.
Their first workshop looked at the idea of writing on memory boxes and language alongside chords and melody composing techniques.
Participant Ana said: “It was a new challenge for us all, I’d not thought of writing in this way before and the finished piece sounded great!”
Graham and Jenni will be working with the students over the coming months towards performing their pieces in Royston and Cambridge in the spring.
