This year’s Royston in Blue charity run has been hailed as the “best ever”.
Around 800 people took part in Sunday’s run on Therfield Heath in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Organiser Lisa Thompson, who started the 5km event in 2012, said: “It was great to see that sea of blue across the heath.
“Thanks must go the committee, our sponsors, Royston Runners, Freman College for providing sports leaders, Meridian School Band, the Army Cadets and all the other volunteers, as well as Toby Snowden and all the staff at the Heath Sports Club for being so accommodating.”
Royston’s Carol Stanier, whose six-year-old son Robin Kazer took part, said: “He ran with some other members of 1st Royston Beavers and the Beaver leaders. I was impressed at his enthusiasm and how speedy he was – he really earned the ice cream!”
