A Bassingbourn woman who has worked as a child protection trainer for more than 18 years has been shortlisted for an award.
Sue Manning, managing director of Education Child Protection Ltd, has been nominated for the The British Association for the Study and Protection of Child Abuse and Neglect and the NSPCC’s Child Protection Trainer of the Year award.
Sue, who has previously been director of study at Bassingbourn Village College, said: “I was extremely passionate about my role at BVC and was amazed when I had a call inviting me to apply as the teacher trainer for child protection.
“In 2002 I decided to take the risk of setting up my own consultancy, and my company thrives today with a large collection of specialist trainers from Lands End to John O’Groats! The last 18 years have been the most rewarding in my varied professional life.”
The awards ceremony takes place in London on January 15.
