Proving the Ashwell at Home festival was not to be missed – town crier Graham Scott flew back from his holiday in Australia to take part in the merry occasion on Sunday.

The festival was a celebration of old and new, as revellers were treated to performances from local musical duo InMotion at the United Reformed Church, as well as a dance by the Letchworth Morris Men and performances of medieval music.

The theme of this year’s event was ‘secret Ashwell’. Visitors were invited to stroll around and discover more about the village’s past and some of Ashwell’s finest gardens were unveiled to the public, some for the first time.

There was plenty to get involved in, with traditional activities such as cow milking, a cricket match and veteran cycles.
