THE finishing touches are being put to this year's pantomime by Cads, the Royston-based drama society. Members have been rehearsing since September for The Little Cabin Boy. Sets have been constructed and painted and costumes, music and lights are all ready to go. Director Alison Bass said: "It's a wonderful pantomime, full of pirates, princesses, treasure and magic. "We have all the usual ingredients that Royston has come to expect of us over the years, fun, music, laughter, audience participation and a large helping of bad jokes. "All that, together with an extremely strong cast and dedicated team of technicians should mean that anyone that comes to see the panto should be in for a treat." - Performances are on Friday January 20 and January 27 at 7.30pm, Saturday January 21 and January 28 at 2pm and 7.30pm at Greneway School, Royston. Tickets cost £6 (£4 concession) and to book call the Box Office on 01763 224942. - Cads will be presenting the Fred Sillence Award after the performance on January 28 to the person who has contributed most to drama during the past 12 months. The award was set up in memory of the late Mr Sillence, who was a keen and active member of Cads.
