GREAT CHISHILL'S annual Christmas market raised £450 with an international charity receiving some of the proceeds.

This year, medical charities were chosen, with one third of the money raised going to Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).

Jim Fookes, for the market organisers, said: "We have given donations to a considerable number of local charities in the five years of the market's life, so we decided to give to an international charity."

The other charities to receive cheques for £150 were the Teddy Charity, which helps sick children being nursed at home, and Addenbrooke's Hospital Children's Services Trust.
