A CAT was abandoned outside an animal shelter on Saturday - but then escaped from a bag.
And when staff arrived at Wood Green Animal Shelter in Heydon at 8am on Sunday, they found a holdall slightly unzipped with a £10 note inside.
They also found a note from someone who said they were old and frail and could no longer look after the cat.
But unfortunately the cat had gone missing.
Shelter manager Gay Baxter said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the cat or knows the colour or gender of the animal."
- Anyone with information should call Wood Green Animal Shelter at Heydon on 08701 909099.
