EAST Herts District Council has made £1 million of efficiency savings to spend on services demanded by the public.
During the next financial year (2007-08) Council Tax payers will experience changes in the cost of some services from bus fares to pest control.
Councillors made the decisions at a meeting of the executive after consulting with businesses and residents to find out where people want the council to invest and cutback on spending.
Even though some increases have been made, money has been saved in other areas.
A council spokesman said: "These savings will reflect in the budget and enable the council to spend more money on services that people want."
Small price increases include concessionary bus fares and new charges include pest control of mice in domestic premises, pre-application planning advice and additional environmental health inspections or replacement documents.
- The council's executive will be recommending a Council Tax increase of 4.58 per cent.
