ASHWELL Parish Council is urging residents to complain to Hertfordshire Highways about the state of roads in the village.

In recent months, the parish council has recorded more than 60 problems, ranging from potholes to complete road surface breakdown.

Parish council chairman Cllr Mark White said: "Despite numerous letters, e-mails and telephone calls, our voice just isn't being heard.

"Our roads are in a disgraceful condition and no re-surfacing will be undertaken until 2013.

"Perhaps if our residents add their concerns with a flood of complaints Hertfordshire Highways may review its forward plans".
