VILLAGERS in Fowlmere saw their hall toilets re-opened after refurbishments.

A dedicated team of trustees had been raising money for the work, which began in July and was completed early in September.

With the support of the parish council, South Cambs District Council, and the lottery grants scheme Awards for All, their plans finally came to fruition.

The improvements include a new disabled toilet with a wheelchair-access ramp, a baby changing facility and an upgrade to the existing toilets.

The ribbon was cut by South Cambs District council chairman James Stewart.

Chairman of trustees Peter Lake said: "The hall is used by many different groups and is an excellent venue for parties, but some people would turn their noses up at our toilets.

"The new facilities make the hall more accessible to many members of the community.

"We are grateful to everyone who has helped make this possible.
