WHY does it take nearly five days for the Town Council election results to be published in Royston?
The North Herts District Council election results were posted on the town hall noticeboard and published on the district council website on Friday, but the town council election results were not published in Royston or on the district council website until Tuesday.
Not too many years ago the count was held overnight in the town hall and the results posted on the noticeboard immediately afterwards, but these days this all happens in Letchworth so we have to wait for the district council courier to bring the results over some days later.
It's obviously vital that the results of all public elections in Royston are published here as soon as practical so I trust that steps will be taken to make sure that this does happen in future.
