IF you go to a pantomime this Christmas don't expect to get bombarded with sweets, because it won't happen.

Oh yes it will, I hear you say, but oh no it won't!

Panto dames across the country have been told not to throw tasty treats into the audience in case they spark food allergies or hit youngsters.

I know I'm having another rant, but for years this has been a tradition that youngsters look forward to.

Where's the harm in this for goodness sake?

It's not as if the sweets are being launched like missiles into the audience!

Instead, some organisers have been told to go into the audience and hand out the sweets, but isn't this defeating the object?

The youngsters are still going to eat the sweets and so, presumably, some could still suffer adverse reactions.

But at the end of the day I'm sure their parents are aware of any allergies they may have.

This is clearly another tradition down the drain and political correctness gone mad!

It makes you wonder if we'll still have pantomimes in 10 years time.
