Driving to Royston recently, I went over much of the ground I used to cover when doing a bread round out of a depot at Braughing many years ago.
I was surprised to discover how much has changed.
It's inevitable I suppose, but I was still shocked to see that the post office and stores in the villages of Therfield, Barkway, and Chrishall, along with the shop of Norths Bakery at Heydon, had disappeared.
I wonder if any reader in those localities would be kind enough to state when closure took place? I would certainly be interested to find out.
