A TALK on the computer industry was given to members by Bob Howard, who spoke about his 42-year career working with computers which started when such machines were the size of a room.
His career began when he travelled around the country installing computers in ships' engine rooms.
Mr Howard later became an international consultant, and told members of his experiences in places such as Aden, Addis Ababa, Libya, New Delhi, and Belgrade.
Later, he said, he became project manager for Customs and Excise, and was involved with the amalgamation with the Inland Revenue.
