Marched to town. Baths at old barracks and Lewis hun instruction. Concert by the Hanger Concert Party.
Set off in open trucks through Ypres. Quiet now. The line was miles ahead. Was interesting to traverse again the old battlefield. When passing Weiltje, could see site of old position.
Arrived at Menin, countryside unmarred. Marched to Winkel St-Eloi and arrived at Harelbeke, a decent village.
Billet in school that had been a German hospital, and so we joined the Fighting 9th.
From the information received, the 9th had started from Passchendaele Ridge. The German defence collapsed and the British just walked over. Two-hundred guns captured
