THE committee appointed to deal with the arrangements for the Queen Victoria Memorial on the health, met on Friday for the purpose of taking steps to settle definitely upon a design and for obtaining tenders for the carrying out of the work.
The proposal has received very liberal support both from residents in the town and neighbourhood and from old Roystonians at a distance, the subscriptions numbering nearly 400 and the total upwards of £150.
The architect, Mr Arnold Mitchell, has produced two somewhat differing designs and these will be submitted to a meeting of the subscribers on Monday next.
