I AM writing on behalf of all councillors who would like to thank all those Royston schools who have worked with us on the Town Council's School Visits Initiative again this year.
As last year, we have once again enjoyed our visits with the school councils and have been able to have an extremely interesting and informative dialogue with the children.
Local councillors have been able to explain the work they do in local government and lively discussions have taken place about what it means to be a good citizen.
It has been useful to hear and take serious note of the things that the children would like to see happen in Royston, such as more play equipment for older children in the Priory Memorial Gardens, a cinema and an up-market burger bar.
All these and many other sensible and interesting suggestions made by the children, prove that they are aware of their surroundings and want to see change happen.
One comment that some children made was that they wanted to see happier people in Royston, so please all take note.
