TO get in the mood for the World Cup we have reproduced in Crow Nostalgia this week a photograph from, we believe, the early 1920s of Royston Town Football Club.
The club in those days is believed to have played on a ground in Green Drift, Royston.
Sitting in the front-row is Dr Wightman, who lived in the Old Palace in Kneesworth Street, and was the patron of the club.
Other details about the club's playing record and the players of the time are lost in the mists of time.
