I WOULD just like to say as a member of the Royston community I think it the idea of fortnightly bin collection is a ridiculous idea.
How can Cllr Lynda Needham say its a positive move. We have a hard enough time fighting the daily battle of litter as it is, let alone cutting down the bin collection.
Has the council not thought about all the families with babies and young children?
What about the dirty nappies, leaving them in the bins for two weeks will create an awful smell and on top of that the slowly decaying rubbish will bring the rats just like the Pied Piper.

The real reason for all this is to cut down spending.
We need to make the council see that there are some things you simply can't cut down on and these are one of them.

I sincerely hope the council do give consideration to the huge mistake it will be making by enforcing the fortnightly pick up.
