Matthew Gooding's column (Crow July 16) totally trivialised the work our soldiers are doing in Afghanistan and the sacrifices they are making every day.
Judging by his inane comments and totally inappropriate choice of words, it is obviously not a subject he has researched that much. Otherwise he would know that, despite repeated denials from our penny pinching government, it is a lack of support and essential equipment that has cost the lives of our soldiers.
Perhaps when Matt reaches 18 - he looks about 12 in his photo - he could become a war correspondent in the Helmand Province. Then his views might not be so flippant.
