IN spite of a last-ditch stand by a small number of members who though such a course unwise, North Herts District Council decided to recommend that the line chosen for the western section of the Royston bypass should be one that brings it close to the outskirts of the town.
Cllr GW Stevens (Indp) said that not enough thought had been given to the matter.
