Harlton folk, having decided to extend the village hall at the same time, started fund-raising with a memorable punt trip along the Cambridge Backs.
Unfortunately, one of the specialist suppliers ceased trading before meeting with its requirements.

This grand little community has had no option but to soldier on with its fund-raising schemes to meet the extra expenses. There is a concert in Harlton Church on Saturday and another punt trip coming up.

Several stories of life in Post Wobegon have gone unrecorded. During the last 12 months the bittern has boomed without a twitcher in sight.
Anthony Green RA has immortalized yours truly on canvas as the photographer in attendance at his daughter's wedding. I don't exactly approve of being depicted as standing on the garden among the hollyhocks, but I must bow to artistic licence.
No, I haven't seen the painting. I think I should have been invited to his studio here in the village to view this rather than being expected to trek to a London gallery.
