WHEN we moved to Royston 24 years ago from near Biggleswade, it was a thriving town with some great shops, delicatessens, small supermarkets, and a cinema.
But we all know that and now wonder what we can do about restoring our town centre to is former glory.
I recently re-visited Biggleswade and was totally surprised by the transformation that has taken place in its town centre.
From being a scruffy little market town it is now buzzing with some great shops and restaurants, and I could not see any empty shop units.
So I ask the town manager why doesn't he contact some of the retailers such as Ask, New Look, McKay & Co, Costa Coffee (our small square at the bottom of Fish Hill would make a great outdoor area with trees, benches and coffee shop) and see if they would come to Royston.
If some do I believe it would inject the life we need in the town to make it buzzing again.
Nothing ventured nothing gained.
