After a number of serious attacks across the UK, it is now a criminal offence to own or possess an XL Bully dog in England and Wales.

Hertfordshire's courts have been cracking down on owners, and here are six XL Bully owners that could see their dogs destroyed after orders from a judge.

1. Tom Finlay

Tom Finlay, of Belton Road, Berkhamsted, admitted breaching Section 4B of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, during an appearance at St Albans Magistrates' Court on April 5.

His two-year-old XL Bully, by the name of Hank, could be destroyed unless an exemption is obtained within two months of the order.

He has also been ordered to pay compensation of £1,298.

2. Richard Jennings

Richard Jennings, of Aston Way, Potters Bar, admitted breaching Section 4B of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, during an appearance at St Albans Magistrates' Court on April 12.

An order to destroy his XL Bully, by the name of Nala, was granted - unless an exemption is obtained within two months of the order.

He has also been ordered to pay compensation of £500.

3. Chloe Cuthbert

Chloe Cuthbert, Sisken Close, Bushey, admitted breaching Section 4B of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, during an appearance at St Albans Magistrates' Court on April 5.

She was handed an order to obtain exemption certificates within two months, or her one-year-old XL Bully named Peaky could be destroyed.

She has also been ordered to pay compensation of £400.

4. Daniel West

Daniel West, of Southwood Road, Dunstable, admitted breaching Section 4B of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, during an appearance at St Albans Magistrates' Court on April 5.

He has been ordered to destroy his two-year-old XL Bully, by the name of Zeus, unless an exemption is obtained within two months of the order.

He has also been ordered to pay compensation of £250.

5. Ashley Moss

Ashley Moss, of Bunyan Road, Bedford, appeared at St Albans Magistrates' Court on April 5. He also admitted breaching Section 4B of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

XL Bully Tyson could be destroyed unless an exemption is obtained within two months of the order.

Moss has also been ordered to pay compensation of £200.

6. Lloyd Lee

Lloyd Lee, of Hatton Place, Midland Road, Luton, admitted breaching Section 4B of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, during an appearance at St Albans Magistrates' Court on April 12.

He has been ordered to destroy his two-year-old XL Bully, by the name of Odin, unless an appeal is lodged within the next 21 days.
