Hertfordshire's motorists will have 13 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

These 13 closures will see a number of major roads affected including the M25, A414, M1 and A405.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A414, from 10.30pm January 7 to 5am February 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A414 Watling Street Roundabout, Lane closures for surveying works on behalf of Volkafitzpatrick.

And a further 12 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A414, from 9.30am to 4.30pm on January 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A414 both directions, Park Street Roundabout to Breakspear Way - hard shoulder closures due to horticulture - cutting and planting works on behalf of Ringway.

• A414, from 8pm January 8 to 5am January 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A414 eastbound, M1, junction 8 to Park Street Roundabout - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs on behalf of National Highways.

• A405, from 10pm January 8 to 5am January 9, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 8 - entry slip road closure, lane closure and diversion route for communications on behalf of National Highways.

• A405, from 10pm January 9 to 5am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 21A, Lane closures for maintenance works for cyclic maintenance works.

• M25, from 10pm January 9 to 5am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane closure for repair of signal.

• A405, from 10pm January 10 to 5am January 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 21 to junction 21A and A405 eastbound, Lane closure for cyclic maintenance.

• A405, from 10pm January 10 to 6am January 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A405 southbound, M25, junction 21A to M1, junction 6, carriageway closure for testing works, diversion via local authority and National Highways roads.

• A405, from 10pm January 11 to 5am January 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 21 to junction 21A and A405 eastbound, Lane closure for cyclic maintenance.

• A405, from 10pm January 13 to 5am January 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound,, junction 6 to junction 8 - carriageway closure, lane closure and diversion route for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.

• M1, from 10pm January 17 to 5am January 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound,, junction 9 to junction 8 - lane closure due to carriageway - reconstruction/renewal works on behalf of Ringway.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
