Trance music heroes Above and Beyond held court at a massive indoor festival, at Alexandra Palace, on Saturday night.
The trio began their set with Progresia featuring Linnea Schossow’s ‘Fire, Fire, Fire’ and that incendiary opening foretold of what was to come.
They wowed the massive happy throng with a series of crowd-pleasing anthems and underground proggyness, from floaty trance to hard and banging tunes.
Messages of love for London and the adoring audience flashed up on a big screen behind Jono, Tony and Paavo, who were playing their biggest event this year.
A spectacular lightshow accompanied the beats and bathed the iconic Great Hall interior of the building in shades of neon as ecstatic revellers waved umbrellas at their idols.
A&B’s set was recorded for their global web radio show Group Therapy 50 and should be uploaded online this week.
London joined a select list of cities that includes Moscow, Los Angeles, Beirut and Bangalore, each of which has hosted A&B’s prestigious live radio broadcast in recent years.
Support on the night came from Arty, Andrew Beyer, Boom Jinx and Guy J.
