A MAVERICK saxophonist will be the special guest at this weekend’s Herts Jazz Club concert in Welwyn Garden City.
Award-winning sax man Gilad Atzmon and the Orient House Ensemble are back on the road with their latest album Songs Of The Metropolis.
And they will be appearing at Campus West on Sunday night.
For the last 12 years the quartet have been touring all over the world, stunning audiences with their firebrand performances packed with drama, pathos, luscious harmonies and wit.
Atzmon’s latest compositions are a sweeping homage to our great cities, from Moscow to Buenos Aires and beyond.
With his blend of manic energy, earthy humour and political comment all topped off by superb musicianship, Gilad Atzmon remains a force of nature.
He is a superb entertainer who knows how to pace a show and this is the last gig of a three-month UK tour, so one not to be missed.
Joining Gilad on alto and clarinet will be Frank Harrison on piano, Yaron Stavi on bass and Eddie Hick on drums.
Tickets cost £11 in advance, £13 at the door and £8 for members.
It costs just £5 for students and under-21s.
The gig starts at 8pm.
