WITH a crash of drums and a flash of light, Potters Bar-based Talent Time is holding Joseph auditions.
Talent Time Musical Theatre Boot Camp will present its most extravagant production yet – Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat – at the Wyllyotts Theatre for Easter 2013.
Talented singers and dancers aged 11 to 18 are required to take on leading roles, including Joseph, The Narrator, Pharoah, Jacob, Mrs Potiphar, the brothers and their wives.
Singers aged seven to 11 are also needed for the children’s choir.
This version of Joseph will feature songs such as Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door, Go Go Joseph, Jacob and Sons and many more and a variety of challenging dance styles including jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop and cheerleading.
Talent Time director Stuart Glover said: “I started my career in the West End production of this show and have always been very passionate about it.
“Joseph is a fantastic musical for all the family with brilliant songs, spectacular choreography and a dynamic storyline.”
Joseph is one of the most popular musicals ever written and the lead role has been played on stage by the likes of Jason Donovan, Donny Osmand, Lee Mead, Stephen Gately and Philip Schofield.
Stuart Glover added: “The music in Joseph crosses a variety of styles and this will also be reflected with hip hop, jazz, ballet, cheerleading and a variety of styles of dance that will be featured in the show.
“We are aiming to make this our most spectacular production and it’s a brilliant opportunity for young performers with a passion for musical theatre to get on stage and work with some amazing industry experts.”
Auditions will take place at the end of the month at TT Dance Studio in Darkes Lane ahead of rehearsals commencing in January, leading to the production in March 2013 at Wyllyotts Theatre.
