A FORMER EastEnders star due to appear on stage in Hertfordshire later this month suffered head injuries in a car crash.
Dean Gaffney was in hospital yesterday (Thursday) following a late-night accident on the A38 in Derbyshire on Wednesday.
The actor, who played hapless Robbie Jackson in the BBC One soap, is currently appearing in a touring production of Agatha Christie thriller A Murder is Announced, which plays at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage from Tuesday, February 12 to Saturday, February 16.
A spokeswoman for the Lytton Way theatre said: “Following the events of Wednesday night regarding the car crash involving Dean Gaffney, the Gordon Craig can confirm that the play he was due to star in ‘A Murder is Announced’ by Agatha Christie will be going ahead as stated from the 12th – 16th February.
“Mr Gaffney is still in hospital recovering from his injuries and the whole team at the Gordon Craig wish him all the best during his recovery.”
A Murder is Announced also stars former EastEnders and Hollyoaks actress Gemma Bissix.
Tickets for the production at the Gordon Craig cost from £16 to £21.50, with £2 off for concessions.
